Public engagement is any process that involves the public in decision-making and/or communication.

Transit's Public Engagement Manual contains policy, standards and guidelines on Transit's engagement with the public. The Manual consists of two parts.

Part 1 contains a working draft of Transit's Public Engagement Policy and Guidelines, which replace Transit's Consultation Policy and Guidelines for Network Management and Improvement Programmes (2003). The revised document focuses on public engagement in Transit's project development and decision-making processes. In the future, more guidance will be provided on our day-to-day network operations

Part 2 contains Transit's Guidelines for Managing Stakeholder Relationships and Consultation with Maori.
