The AUSTROADS Guide to Traffic Engineering Practice - Part 14: Bicycles (GTEP Part 14) is the widely used reference document for the design of cycle facilities in New Zealand. However, not all of its content is relevant to New Zealand and therefore this NZ Supplement provides amendments that are necessary for the use of GTEP Part 14 in New Zealand.

The supplement has 'Provisional' status and its application is continually monitored. Although the document will be superseded when the new Austroads Guide to Road Design series is published, there have been some important developments in practice that warrant this September 2008 update. This version also addresses technical issues with the previous version. Feedback on problems encountered by users and general comments on the supplement are welcomed.
