| From the Ngauranga Gorge to Wellington Airport

| Purpose: | This is a joint study between Transit, Wellington City Council and Greater Wellington Regional Council to consider transport issues between the bottom of Ngauranga Gorge, Wellington Hospital and the Airport in order to plan for the city and region's expected growth. Present and future transport needs will be identified throughout the study and solutions that support the city's current and future land uses, social, business and recreational objectives will be proposed and put out for public consultation. A long-term transport strategy that fully considers a range of options and all modes of transport will be developed by the end of the study. |

| Interesting Facts: | Stage I consultation closed on 15 May 2006. It included informing the public that the study had commenced and asked for feedback on relevant transport issues in the study area. Stage II is out for public consultation Feedback is required by 22 February 2008 seeking public feedback on a range of options to keep the city on the move for the next 30 years. Copies of the consultation document are attached, or can be filled out at www.Wellington.govt.nz. Stage III is scheduled for next year when preferred options will be put out for public consultation before being used to develop a corridor plan. |
