Transit to begin laying asphalt surface tonight at MacKays Crossing
Transit will begin laying an asphalt surface on the two-lane section of SH1 south of MacKays Crossing tonight.
Transit Regional Manager Graham Taylor says the work will be carried out between the hours of 7.00pm and 5.30am. The asphalt surface, once laid can be driven on within an hour.
Transit will continue to keep motorists informed of the work being undertaken at MacKays Crossing and thanks everyone for their patience during such a trying time.
“We understand that motorists have been inconvenienced and ask for your understanding while we get the road back to normal,” Mr Taylor says.
